Twelve Months

12 months

I can hardly believe that one whole year has passed since T joined our family.  I know that every mom says this, but it was the fastest year of my life.  And it was a big, busy one too! T is the light of our lives. G and I have never been so happy (truly) and we remind each other of it all the time.  What did we do with ourselves before T?  This past year has been a big one for our family.  T was born, I quit my job, G graduated, we packed up & moved to Utah, G studied for and took the bar, we vacationed on two cruises and now we are waiting to see what the future will hold.  Some people prefer to wait until they are absolutely settled and financially stable before they have children, but I am so glad and thankful that we have had T with us this past year.  He has been a blessing and we feel closer as a family than ever.

At 12 months, T is a daddy's boy.  He loves to be chased and dig in dirt and sand.  He's eating lots of finger foods and "squeezer" baby food pouches.  He's sleeping 12 hours at night and taking two one hour naps.  He says dada, mama, ra (for Ralph, Michelle's doxen living with us), ball, baba (bottle), craka (cracker), wak wak wak (walk), side (outside) and bock bock (what does a chicken say?).  He cut his 8th tooth on July 19th.  He holds up one finger if you ask him how old he is, raises his arms when we say touchdown, and smacks the back of this hands if you say traveling.  He likes to show us his belly button, dance to music, and play with the phone.

T was a lucky boy and had three birthday celebrations.  He had a party with my family a few days before his birthday, went to the zoo with mom and dad on his big day and celebrated with G's family in Logan a few days afterwards.

First birthday party at Grandma & Grandpa Lowe's house

One year old.  I love that little devil.

Opening gifts with dad

A little nervous...

He HATED having everyone looking at and singing to him,  He screamed for G to get him out of his chair and wouldn't touch his cake.  Poor guy - I think he just got overwhelmed.

On his actual birthday, G and I took T to the Hogle Zoo to celebrate.

We watched the bird show, which he LOVED...

Saw the new polar bear exhibit....

Checked out the monkeys...

Played in the water...

Shared an ice cream cone...

And rode the train.

Remember when I said he was a daddy's boy??

A few days after his birthday, we headed up to Logan to celebrate with G's family.  T has a cousin only two weeks younger than him, so we partied together with a day at the water park.  Pizza, cupcakes, presents and water slides!?  What could be better!?

T did much better with all the attention and singing the second time around.
He even managed to eat some of his cupcake.

T and Grey - best buddies.

What a stud.
We love you, T!
