A few weeks after G's graduation, we went on a fun little trip with some of our friends to celebrate the ending of law school. We cruised from Los Angeles to Catalina Island and Ensenada. I wasn't sure how everyone would like the port cities, but we had a blast spending time with some of our favorite people. If there is eating and laughing on a vacation, I count it as a success. Plus we've been talking about this trip for almost three years, and we finally made it happen!
Driving to LA
Day One: Boarding the ship, Carnival Inspiration
Day Two: Catalina Island, California
Riding the tender boats to the pier
We rented golf carts to explore the island on our own. Great decision.
Beautiful views
We stopped to watch a few other tourists zip-line down the canyon.
Visiting the old Art Deco casino. It's now a museum, reception hall, and theater.
Then we drove all the way over to the other side of the bay.
This is a far view of the casino.
Quick lunch at an outdoor grill. Not pictured - the giant ice cream cones we got afterwards.
Formal dinner on the second night.
One of my personal favorites of the trip.
Day Three: Ensenada, Mexico
In Ensenada we chose a "beach party" excursion through the cruise line. We rode a bus 30 minutes up the coast to a bar/restaurant/beach resort where we hung out all day.
The boys rented a few boogie boards. They were excited, but the water was pretty cold!
Here we are just after finding Suzanne's lost wedding ring in the sand. Miraculous!!
Before getting back on the boat, we stopped off downtown for some shopping and ended up eating lunch at this taco truck. This might have been the best meal we had the whole trip. (And I can only say that because none of us got sick!)
G's fave - Mexican coke
An amazing action shot - right before I got punched in the face. Haha... he would never dare!
Third night at dinner. We all look pretty good for not having showered after the beach, right!? There was a problem with the ship and we had no water for 3 hours... of course, it was right before dinner.
Day Four: At Sea
Hahaha - I love this picture!
When we received our bill, we were amazed at how accurately Carnival perceived us! :)
Our last night after dinner. We had so much fun!
Bye, everyone! Thanks for the fantastic trip. We're already looking forward to the next one!
Oh my...I WANT TO GO BACK!!!!! Thanks SO much for making it happen. Miss you way too much, you need to move next door. Just sayin...
